Worship God, Serve Christ, Grow in Faith.   These are the words that God placed in my mind just after the Pastor Search Committee of Central Christian Church asked me to be their next Senior Pastor.  The words came as I was contemplating the shape of my upcoming ministry.  God had made clear a simple call:  go to Corpus Christi and be in ministry.  A clear call like that demands obedience.  Still, I had not yet articulated a ministerial philosophy that would have meaning and importance for a congregation seeking new leadership.  A statement like that usually comes some months into a ministry.  But the words came and they came from God.

Worship God, Serve Christ, Grow in Faith.  These are three essential activities of the Christian life.  You must worship God both because the Ten Commandments demand it and because you will worship something else if not God.  You must serve Christ because Christ served us as an example of how to live out Faith.  You must grow in faith or your struggles in life will be more with yourself than with others and with situations.

The congregation of Central Christian Church has a conviction that their faith in God through Christ Jesus is well-placed and will be life-giving.  With them, I want to share an invitation to join us.  We worship together at 10 am Sunday mornings. Growing in Faith classes (Sunday School) begins at 8:30.  Opportunities to serve Christ in Corpus Christi are abundant and our part of that is taking shape.
